Cover Girl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation.

Ok, so let me first start off by saying that in general I'm a massive fan of drugstore foundations. Maybelline Fit Me  is a staple in my makeup rotation, as is their Dream Cushion foundation. L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte , Total Cover , & True Match are other loves of mine. Which is why it genuinely pains me to tell you that this Cover Girl Vitalist Healthy Elixir  foundation is not all that I'd hoped it would be.

When freshly applied it's beautiful; it's dewy & skin-like, sheer coverage with one thin layer & medium coverage with another thin layer. But then it dries, & the finish is cakey & thick, almost bumpy. It gave my skin texture that doesn't even exist. My pores appeared to be massive, & in places my skin actually felt dry & slightly puckered around my mouth. By the way, I have oily skin. HOW? It also oxidized like nothing I've ever seen before. On my upper lip it oxidized so badly it looked like I had a dry orange moustache.

Here is what Cover Girl says about this product:

"Discover healthy looking skin, bottled! New Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation is inflused with Vitamins E, B3, B5 plus SPF 20 for correction, protection and perfection all in one. This full-coverage foundation makes skin glow with a healthy look, from the inside out."

That sounds great, & I'd be so on board with this product if it actually did as it claimed & made my skin look healthy & glowing. There are some Cover Girl products that are my HG products (such as these Tru Naked Eyeshadow palettes ), but this was just not one of them. If you want amazing but affordable foundations, check out my recommendations above.
