Ok, I'm not sure about the rest of you, but when I heard that Milk Makeup was coming to Canada, I literally screamed out loud with excitement. I have been DYING to try this brand after hearing such rave reviews about it. In the course of my research, I found that it's pretty hard to find a decent looking swatch of the products. Maybe this is just me, but before I buy anything, I research it meticulously. I want to see colour, pigmentation, opacity, etc. I need to see what I'm getting. I decided on some makeup as well as skincare, feeling that this would help me form the best overall opinion on the brand. *SPOILER ALERT* I now want everything.

| That Glow | L-R Highlighter in Lit, Holographic Stick in Supernova & Mars

| Solid Skincare | L-R Matcha Cleanser, Matcha Toner, Hydrating Oil Stick.

Milk Makeup started out as the brainchild of Mazdack Rassi, founder of Milk Studios , his wife (and Marie Claire editor) Zanna Roberts Rassi, and the creative director of Milk’s production company, Georgie Greville. The line boasts natural, good for you ingredients, & is cruelty free. Best of all? It performs. Loved by celebs & makeup artists alike, most of the products are solid, making them conveniently travel-friendly. A few, like their Sunshine Oil, are liquids. Previously, Milk Makeup was only sold in the U.S., but since March 15 have been available for purchase in Canada! There are 68 products in the lineup, & they're all multi-tasking & perfect to use on-the-go. Everything can be applied with fingers! The packaging is utilitarian & durable, & everything is paraben-free, & preservative-free.

Swatches Top to Bottom: Highlighter in Lit, Holographic Stick in Supernova & Mars.

Highlighter in Lit

Available in one shade, Milk Makeup's Highlighter in Lit is a universally flattering warm-toned champagne highlight in solid form. The consistency is smooth to the touch & gel-like, owing to Milk Melt Technology which allows it to melt seamlessly into the skin. It's infused with mango butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil for a hydrated glow. It's pigmented, but not too much so, allowing it to create a natural sheen on the skin. It's absolutely beautiful. I hope they add more colours to this line. It's great for those people who are totally over the blinding stripe of highlight on the cheekbones as this is very natural but can be built up to be more noticeable. One swipe is beautiful for daytime, another swipe gives more drama.

Holographic Stick in Supernova

A holographic highlight with a lavender & blue toned shift, Milk Makeup's Holographic Stick in Supernova is infused with real Meteorite powder & pearls to give the skin an iridescent sheen. This was the first shade in the Holographic lineup. Also formulated with Milk Melt Technology & mango butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil, the glow is otherworldly & ethereal. It's also pigmented & smooth. The colour is similar to the Amethyst shade in Kat Von D's Alchemist palette, but because this is a cream, it creates more of a dewy sheen on the skin. You can definitely see the lavender pigments when you're wearing it, but I don't think it's too much for daytime. I really love this!

Holographic Stick in Mars

The second offering from Milk in their Holographic line, Holographic Stick in Mars is the more warm toned sister to the original Supernova. It's a golden peach base with red & copper shift, also formulated with Milk Melt Technology & mango butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil, as well as meteorite powder & pearls. This one was my favourite of the three highlighters, & if you found Supernova to be too cool toned for you, definitely try this one. It's such a unique colour, I actually don't think I have anything like it in my (vast) makeup collection. The consistency of this one seemed a tad bit thicker than the other two, but it blended out seamlessly & was absolutely gorgeous. Very pigmented & dewy on the skin. Even though it's such a unique colour, I would still wear this out in the daytime.

L-R Eye Pigment in Silent Disco, Ubame Mascara in Inked

Just like the rest of Milk's line, the Eye Pigment can be applied with fingers for a really sexy, intentionally undone eye look. I took the tiniest amount on my finger & blended it over my eyelid & under my lower lash line. Ta-da! Instant smokey eye. It can also be blended out with a synthetic brush, but my favourite way to apply it is the way it was intended, with fingers. The wear time is phenomenal, as in I'm pretty sure if I wanted to sleep in it, it would still be there the next day. It comes out of the little tube as a cream, then dries down & sets. It will not budge once it's dry, so work fast! It's also VERY pigmented. I'm going to have to pick up a few more shades of this.

The Ubame Mascara is great if you like your lashes separated & long. If you build it up with a few coats, you can get some volume from it. It's extremely black & did not irritate my sensitive eyes. It's created with Milk's signature blend of ubame oak charcoal and sapphire dust to add dimension. The brush has three balls on it so that it hits the lashes all across the eye, & it really coats every lash. I enjoyed this mascara even though I prefer volumizing mascaras. But I'd pick this up again.

Matcha Cleanser

I really love the concept behind the Milk Makeup Matcha Cleanser . It's solid, so it's TSA friendly, & it's super convenient for travelling as you can just toss it in your bag & you don't have to worry about things spilling & creating a mess in your luggage. It's infused with antioxidant matcha green tea, & it detoxifies, exfoliates, and purifies skin. I noticed that my usually large pores looked very small after I used this cleanser. You're meant to first remove your makeup, & then you wet your face & rub this all over. It lathers a bit & it has tiny little exfoliants in it that feel scrubby on my skin. I felt very refreshed & clean. Love this!

Matcha Toner

You're meant to follow the Matcha Cleanser with this Matcha Toner , & just like the cleanser, this product is solid & TSA travel-friendly. Also infused with antioxidant-packed matcha green tea, it also boasts a blend of kombucha, witch hazel, & cactus elixir. This toner did such an amazing job at further minimizing my pores, making my skin feel fresh, & prepping my skin for hydration.

Hydrating Oil Stick

The final step in the skincare routine, this Hydrating Oil Stick is equally as innovative as the rest of Milk's line. A SOLID oil, you basically take the stick & rub it onto your face after cleansing & toning. I like to use my fingers to further massage the product into my face (Facial massage is an important step people! Check out Into The Gloss' video on how to do this HERE ). It's so lightweight that it barely feels like I've put anything on my face, but afterward my skin feels hydrated & so so soft. It's so glowy & dewy... You almost don't need makeup! It contains Apricot, avocado, calendula, jojoba and orange peel oils, all of which help to nourish & hydrate the skin. Worth noting: this product can be used under or over makeup as a highlighter. And of course, because it is a solid, it's also TSA travel-friendly.

Bottom line? The hype is real people. It's convenient, performs incredibly well, & is not too hard on the wallet. I'll definitely be collecting the rest of the line. Milk Makeup is also sold at Sephora .
